MAPP Impact's Unforgettable Mentorship Luncheon at Markham Vineyards

Napa Valley, CA on October 19, 2023 - A gathering of remarkable women from the culinary and hospitality world came together yesterday for a private, invite-only mentorship luncheon and an exquisite food and wine pairing experience, hosted at the illustrious Markham Vineyards. The event, led in partnership with Winemaker Kimberlee Nicholls, was a celebration of talent and connection, with each attendee adding their unique flavor to the mix.

The luncheon was a culinary delight thanks to the talented Chef Christina Machamer, an alum of Hell’s Kitchen, who has worked alongside culinary legends Gordon Ramsay and Thomas Keller. Her risotto received resounding applause as the "best ever" by all in attendance.

Invited attendees was a dynamic lineup including:

  • Katie Shaffer, Founder and President of Feast it Forward located in Napa Valley's Oxbow Market.

  • Jennifer Bennett, Owner/Wine Buyer of Lovina, who has been a trailblazer in creating a culture and financial opportunities for her staff with no tipping, full health benefits, and 401k since 2014.

  • Kadriye Baspehlivan, Executive Chef at Tarla Grill, a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America.

  • Chef Tanya Holland, widely known for her television appearances, book publications, and the renowned Brown Sugar Kitchen.

  • Leah Williams of Chispa & Cadet Wine & Beer Bar, a culinary professional with training under Thomas Keller and Gordon Ramsay. She later married her husband from Keller’s flagship restaurant, The French Laundry.

  • Rhonda Diaz, a specialist in Restaurant Real Estate.

Joanna James captured the essence of the mentorship luncheon, describing it as a convergence of exceptional women who shared their talents, wisdom, and passion. The event marked a significant milestone in the journey of MAPP Impact, coming full circle at Markham Vineyards with its founding principles and partner.

The journey continues today with a special 5th-anniversary screening of "A Fine Line Movie" at the Culinary Institute of America COPIA. The evening will be accompanied by a sumptuous 3-course dinner prepared by Celebrity Chefs Tanya Holland who attended yesterday’s mentorship luncheon, Chef Christine Ha who was the winner of MasterChef season 3, and Chef Valerie James who starred in the film.
