Detroit
MAPP and FoodLab Detroit brought together some of Detroit's finest restaurateurs, farmers and chefs including Genevieve Vang, Kiki Louya, April Anderson, Sister Pies & Kate Wiliams. MAPP showed the power of Detroit's resurgence through the farming & restaurant community and the good work FoodLab Detroit is doing for its city
Baltimore
MAPP honored Catina Smith, Founder of Just Call Me Chef (JCMC), a sisterhood of Black women chefs breaking stereotypes, as well as other leading women in Baltimore’s food scene including Amanda Mack, Tonya Thomas, Jasmine Norton and Lane Harlan. We’ve built a strong partnership with JCMC, and there is no greater example of a powerful advocate than JCMC. In the past two years, they’ve built Our TIme Kitchen a shared kitchen for minority women and marginalized genders.
Houston
With I’ll Have What She’s Having, MAPP hosted an advocacy screening to discuss the importance of addressing women’s health, particularly in the culinary industry, and educating our audience on the barriers that must be overcome to address those needs. Photo Credit: Emily Jaschke
Dallas
MAPP, in partnership with Distinguished Vineyards and Markham Vineyards, awarded a $1,500 Community Impact award to a small business owner in Dallas. MAPP will continue to recognize this award annually across the country in other communities.
